Project Overview:

Description:

  • A comprehensive revamp of the Deal App's real estate map aimed at boosting ad visibility and refining the user experience for real estate agents and customers.

My Role:

  • As a Senior Product Designer, I led the UX and UI redesign, focusing on making the map more intuitive and informative.

Problem Statement:

Challenge:

  • An old add ads flow resulted in over 100,000 ads being inaccurately placed, causing an 80% overlap and severe navigational issues because it didn't focus on the necessity of locating the advertisement on the map and moving the pin to the actual advertisement location and the user could have skipped this step, which led to the advertisements being placed in the pin locations automatically without any move for this pin from the user.

Research and Insights:

Quantitative Analysis:

Quantitative analysis helped us narrow the scope of our search for the causes of the problem, and after that we relied on videos recorded in SmartLook in order to confirm the problems facing users.

  • Ad Placement Patterns: Extensive data analysis showed that the system inadvertently encouraged agents to neglect precise property location inputs

  • User Behavior Study: Evaluated user interaction with the map, uncovering trends of low engagement and high bounce rates.

Identifying Pain Points:

Overlapping Ad Pins:

  • Analyzed metrics like click-through rates and time spent on the map page, indicating a need for a more user-friendly interface.

User Interaction Metrics:

  • Analyzed metrics like click-through rates and time spent on the map page, indicating a need for a more user-friendly interface.

Solution Development:

Map Interface Improvement:

  • Dynamic Ad Updating Feature: Integrated an "Update Location" button, facilitating real-time ad location adjustments for existing ads.

  • Agent Alert System: Developed prompts for agents, encouraging accurate ad placements, which cut down default location usage by 89% in old ads till now.

User Interface Enhancements:

  • Redesigning for Interactivity: The map was completely restructured for better user interaction, emphasizing clarity and ease of navigation.

  • New Tools: Incorporated features like an all-encompassing Kingdom map and real estate Requests, enhancing user engagement.

Implementation

Execution:

  • Rolled out the new features over three months, with extensive beta testing involving key real estate agents.

Feedback and Iteration:

  • Utilized post-launch user feedback for continuous refinements, ensuring the map's functionality aligned with user needs.

Results and Impact

  • User Experience Improvements:

    • Engagement Uplift: Witnessed a 60% surge in user interaction with the revamped map.

    • Ad Overlap Reduction: Successfully decreased overlapping ads by 87%, significantly easing map navigation.

  • Quantitative Impact:

    • User Satisfaction: Post-implementation surveys indicated a 35% increase in user satisfaction scores.

  • Business Impact:

    • Enhanced Agent Participation: Saw a marked improvement in agent engagement with the platform, leading to more accurate and detailed listings.

    • Increased Platform Credibility: The improvements contributed to a stronger brand image and higher trust among users.
